I'm selling my 2018 Volkswagen Golf R and a potential buyer asked if he could have it inspected at a garage of his choice. I've never sold a car privately before so I'm not sure what the normal protocol is. Part of me thinks it's totally reasonable because I'd want the same if I was buying, but another part is worried he might pick a shop that's overly critical or tries to lowball me after. I agreed to let him arrange a Certified Inspection Downtown Dubai as long as I'm present and the shop is legitimate. The buyer seems genuine and he's paying for the inspection himself. For those of you who have sold cars before, do you usually allow inspections? And what happens if they find something minor like worn brake pads or a small oil seep? Do you negotiate on the price or just say take it or leave it? The car is in great shape overall but it's not brand new. I just don't wanna waste my time if he's gonna use the report to knock thousands off. Any advice on how to handle this gracefully would be great. Thanks.
